That's right. Bradley and I are officially insane.
But we're going to Chicago this summer. And Brad's really excited about going to Wrigley Field. We've been checking the Web site almost daily and today was the day that single-game tickets went on sale.
So we got up at 5:15 because the sale started at 6. The virtual waiting room was supposed to open at 5:30 but we didn't get into that until 5:53. Then we waited. The Web page updated itself every 15 seconds, but around 6:15 Brad decided to try calling. Busy signal.
Around 6:35 we made it to the front of the virtual waiting room. We selected the game we wanted and picked "best available seats." We ended up searching for seats for another 10 to 15 minutes because the first five most-expensive price levels (we're seat snobs) didn't have 2 consecutive seats available. Wha?! We ended up in section 219.
I went back to the Cubs' site after I reawoke around 10:30 and it said that a dozen or so games are already sold out. Not the game that we're going to, but shows that we were lucky to get tickets at all.
And the look of pure glee on Bradie's little face when he gets to Wrigley Field in June will be reason enough for me getting up at 5:15 a.m. Ahhhh. :-)
