Apparently the show was pre-empted in L.A., so Burger didn't get to see it. But the KIKU people don't care about baseball, so it aired here. Me, Brad, EdC., Kayhow, T.Roy and Lee gathered around the television to watch.
If I can get this video uploaded (and it can be viewed), it's less about the answer and more about the classic Burger expression. So great!
Burger, we thought you got a raw deal. It seemed unfair that lady was the only one given the opportunity to answer those last few questions. We know that you knew Castro and I'm pretty sure that you would have figured out what ship was sunk in Pearl Harbor. :-)
TV called later to say that she'd completely forgotten it was Friday and didn't set her DVR. But at 5 o'clock she realized what had happened and went racing home to catch the last few minutes of Burger's appearance. She said that she has a photo, but I haven't seen it yet.
In other news:
• EdC. has given me some more cucumbers, so I'm making more pickles. I brought in a jar from the first batch for him to have but he has yet to crack it open. I think he's trying to save both of us the embarrassment of them making him puke in the middle of the office.
• Bradley and I have a crazy week ahead: Brad's got a golf tournament. The youngest sister of my friend D will be here Sunday-Thursday ... she's not staying with us but I hope to hook up with her for lunch or something. And Brad's college friends J+J are going to be here Wednesday-Monday. They are also not staying with us, but Brad is trying to find time to hook up with them.
• I almost got pulled over for speeding on my home from the gym tonight. Arggh, the limit on that new highway should totally be higher than 45. But Brad's gonna roll his eyes when I tell him about it because we were driving the same stretch of road the other day and I said, "Oh cops always hang out there. I see them all the time." To which Brad replied something along the lines of, "Well, then, you'd think you'd drive slower if you know they are always there." So tonight I'm whipping along at well over the speed limit and come around the curve and there is suddenly a very bright (seriously I was almost blind, that can't be safe either) light coming at me from the right ... right where I told Brad that the police always are. As I slowed down and got closer, the whole car lit up with the flashing blue lights and everything. "That's it," I thought to myself. "I'm toast. Brad is going to be ticked." But as I passed the still perpendicular police car and actually started to pull over, I realized that he wasn't coming after me. In fact, he'd already turned off all of the lights and had returned to the darkness of his hiding spot to try to catch the next evildoer.
