Cone cakes

I've been pining for the Williams-Sonoma Ice Cream Cone Cupcake pan all summer but just can't justify buying it.

So today I decided to try something else — cupcakes in an ice cream cone. Then I frosted them, half to look like soft serve, half to look like scoops or "dips" as we say in the Midwest. I like the scoops better, but that's a lot of frosting to choke down. Other than that they taste pretty good, except they do get a little chewy toward the bottom. I'd give myself a B+ for creativity but C- for taste.
